CRA Special Security Newsletter

Another unnecessary murder in our area… The CRA extends its condolences to the Bowman family in Glenadrienne. There have been too many occasions in the past 18 months that these sad words have had to be written.

What makes it sadder is that we have a solution within our grasp and that is to take effective control of our public spaces using the proven services of CSS Tactical.

Is your life and the safety of your family not worth R385 per month? Who will be the next victim in our area? What does it take to galvanise our community?

Some notes

1.      CSS will again give an overview of what they offer to secure Public Space Security – PSS with CSS.

 Wednesday 30 July at 18:00 at Craighall Primary School  

A Saturday morning session is also being arranged – details will be sent to you.

2.      Extract from a recent CPF (Community Policing Forum) meeting  

·         Trio crimes (House robbery, business robbery, hijacking) were on the increase, spreading from Craighall and Craighall Park , to Parkhurst and Parktown North.

·         8 vehicles were being deployed in addressing Trio crimes

·         Many house robberies originated from victims being followed home from shopping centres.

·         Residents were urged to install a panic button in their bathrooms where many victims were confined during house robberies.

·         Residents were urged not to let gardeners in possession of remote controls work outside their gates.  Criminals were overpowering them and gaining access to properties.

·         Residents are requested to report crimes to 086 1212400 option 5.

3.   Next Domestic Watch meeting      

Friday 25 July, 12- 13:00, Wesleyan Church , Norfolk Ave , CHP. The topic will be “Criminal’s Crime Methods – Residential Attacks”. Penny Steyn says, “I have identified 27 different methods that criminals use to get to us in our homes… residential robberies are out of control so this lesson will be solely based on all aspects related to property housebreakings and house robbery.
