Street Reps
Become a Street Rep!
For quite some years, notices were delivered around the suburb by volunteers.
This is a great way of involving residents but as there is no one to manage the portfolio, this form of distribution is currently on hold.
Want to play a part in your community but are not sure if you've got time to be a member of the Executive Committee? Then become a Street Rep. The role of the Street Reps is to deliver the CRA's quarterly information publication, the Crier, and occasionally other urgent and / or important notices into each householder's mail box. While many members/residents do have email, at this stage it is not a universal means of communication, so the CRA is of the view that effective communication still includes 'hard copy'.
Thought has gone in to dividing up the suburbs into manageable sections so, for example, long streets such as Buckingham and Waterfall Avenues, are broken up into several parts.
It is basically 3 to 4 times a year. It is also a good way to get to know who lives in your suburb and especially your street. (And good exercise too!)
As at November 2007 the CRA does not have a Street Rep co-ordinator – we urgently need a resident to help us!
