Traffic problems include 'rat running' through our suburbs, flow of traffic, danger spots and the like.
If you have anything to report contact the CRA traffic rep Peter Heritage. Check out the monthly status report on reported potholes, trenches, missing manhole covers etc. If repairs have not been done, contact Peter and he will follow up with the JRA (Johannesburg Roads Agency). If on your travels around our area, you see something not yet reported, we recommend that you send an email to the JRA - hotline@jra.org.za - and copy it to Peter. He'll then put this on the status list.
The City Council has indicated that it is to spend an amount of R70m on installing a pulsing traffic light system. Metro police are to conduct speed and frequency tests in specific streets including our own suburbs. It is hoped that among other matters, this may partially alleviate the congestion at the Bompas Road intersection.
Did you know that where there are speed humps, the speed limit is 40kph? More 40kph signs are to be erected where there are speed humps in our area.
