CHAIRMAN WANTED!
ALIVE!
The CraigPark Residentsą Association is
responsible to its members and residents in Craighall and Craighall
Park. Its market encompasses approximately 10 000 people in addition
to offices, commercial houses and shops.
The CRA has come a long way in its 40 years of existence and with
changing times still has a long way to go. To protect its
assets and activities, the CRA can confidently say it has:
- A strong membership
- A solid financial base
- A strong executive committee
- A community anxious to retain its high
standards and reputation
The CRA is headed by the Chairperson and is supported by a secretary
and the following portfolios comprising 15 executives:
- Treasury
- Environment
- Town Planning
- Security
- Community Affairs
- Membership
- Communications
- Traffic
One of these executives its Chairman intends stepping down
before the next AGM in May 2005. He should have stepped down
in May 2004 (according to the constitution of the CRA), but
unfortunately there were no takers from within the executive, nor
from within our two suburbs.
This time around he will definitely not be able to continue due to
pressure of work. If however, we do manage to find a
replacement (which we MUST do) he could continue in the executive
until the 2005 AGM, on the basis of assisting the new chair and/or
continuing with the Safety and Security portfolio.
I know this is going to happen (and so does my wife!) because this
is me ‹John Turpin, your current chair ‹writing this e-letter to
you! I wonąt hide the fact that the job takes time (at least 3
hours per day during the week) and although not in any way lucrative
(in fact, rather expensive) it is very rewarding in the sense that
you can make a difference in the development and security of your
community.
Contact me, John Turpin (011 435 4547 office) or jrturpin@mweb.co.za
to:
1. have a chat with me if you are interested; or
2. with any ideas of anyone you feel has potential.
This is very urgent. Please
continue to help us help you.
